Qualifications

  • 4 year bachelors degree is required.  BS in one of the Life Sciences is highly desired (Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.
  • Prior experience calling on the targeted account base –  especially with scientists, chemists and purchasing managers.
  • A successful track record of negotiating and closing business deals with the targeted customer base
  • Prior experience selling ingredients into the targeted industries.*Hunter mentality, new business development, generation of new accounts, enthusiastic, gritty, does not take “no” for an answer attitude
  • Excellent communication skills and time management skills
  • Computer literate and proficient with all Microsoft Office Suite products

Responsibilities

  • Management and evaluation of current UPI sales team utilizing “Salesforce” type metrics.
  • Participate in joint sales calls with existing team .
  • Expand UPI sales network and build additional customer partnerships with “deal making” capabilities.
  • Cultivate, develop and visit with your own key national accounts directly.
  • Direct sales responsibility for all House Accounts.
  • Grow overall business throughout all industry sectors.
  • Responsible for continual new business development.
  • Work with senior management to create and disseminate marketing plan.
  • Manage trade show presentation, schedules and follow up.
  • Work with senior management to expand rapid response live pricing system.
  • Use web based sales management tools to improve overall sales efficiencies.
  • Expand UPI’s national sales coverage and train sales staff to behave in the most professional manner.
  • Work with senior management to improve and expand our advert
