Function

The oil is used by the perfume and pharmaceutical industries. Nutmeg oil is also used as a natural food flavoring in baked goods, and in soda syrups, and sweets. It is often used as a replacement for ground nutmeg as it leaves no particles in the food. In the pharmaceutical industry the oil is used in tooth paste and as a major ingredient in several different brands of cough syrups.
